154 Bay Ave.
(Owned by Dan Garlick)

Designed by its owner, this home was constructed in a tropical style by local builder, Bill Barnes, in 1993 on this bayside lot. The design was inspired by a desire for the house to fit into the historical district, yet also to be attuned to environmental concerns. The dimensions of the home were selected in accord with the wetlands that flank it. Materials used included native cypress, cedar and yellow pine. A large deck on the bay side provides incredible water views and year -round sea breezes. A dock installed in 1994 allows easy access to the bay for shallow water skiffs. A recent improvement is the addition of a solar system that services the home.
