109 Bay Ave. (Owned by Arlene and David Wingate)

This bungalow was built in 1925 for Harry and Ruth Cummings for less than $3000. The local hospital, Weems Hospital, was named after her father. The builder of the home was H.O. Marshall. His brother, George Marshall, is credited with the erection of many fine homes in Apalachicola including the Rectory for Trinity Episcopal Church. The Cummings/Wingate home was renovated in 1999 by Greg Phillips. The current owner, Arlene Wingate, is an interior designer and her skills and creativity are exhibited throughout this lovely home. Its arched living room windows and wide open porches welcome the Florida sunshine and gulf breezes into the appealing interior spaces.
